The recreational soccer program at West End is one in which we take great pride. Over 350 players and almost 75 adult volunteers are involved every year. Our adult coaches are all either F Licensed or NYSCA-registered. The recreation season begins the Saturday after Labor Day and continues through October, with playoffs in November. The games are played at the West End soccer fields (behind CVS and Curtis Bowling) and LiMato field. Players from ages 4 - 17 participate in six Divisions in the progra.

Our instructional division for 5 & 6 year olds is a popular starting point for aspiring young soccer players. Present and former West End players train our young players in basic soccer skills and officiate at short-sided games. Players in our 7- & 8-year-old division (Division 6) participate in 7 v 7 games on the Little Kickers’ fields behind Marrazzo’s Thriftway Market. Our 9- & 10- year-olds make up Division 5, playing 9 v 9 at the two intermediate soccer fields behind Marrazzo’s. Division 4 is made up of 11 - 13 year olds, and they play regulation 11 v 11 soccer on the fields behind CVS and Curtis Bowling off Scotch Road. Division 3 is our High School division, made up of players in age from 14 to 17.

The players enjoy All-Star games in Divisions 5 and 6 every year. We celebrate the end of each recreational season with pizza banquets for our players and their coaches. Traditionally in mid-October, West End hosts a Coaches’ Game for our adult volunteers. The players enjoy watching their coaches perform and giving THEM advice during the game!

West End is always looking for adult volunteers. If you want to get involved, contact any one of the people listed under "Executive Board" on the website. There are many duties that need doing and we are always looking for new people with new ideas.
